Definitive care

Definition (1):

It is the care that is rendered to conclusively manage a patient’s condition, such as a full range of preventive, curative acute, convalescent, restorative, and rehabilitative medical care.

Definition (2):

It means completed therapy i.e. endpoint where all treatments needed at the time have taken place. This care consists of ECG diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of defibrillation, cardiac dysrhythmias, and the management of intravenous drugs and fluids.

Definition (3):

It refers to the treatment plan or the care for a disorder or disease that has been selected for a patient as the best one after considering all other options. It is the clinical intervention designed to manage the condition, injury, or disease of a patient and keep away from more clinical intervention. What will be included in the definitive care is a thing of clinical judgment in discussion with others and where necessary or possible, with the patient.
