Earnings risk

Earnings risk is the danger that earnings for a banking organization may fluctuate widely due to changes in economic conditions, demand for services, mix of services offered, or other factors; a merger between two or more banking organizations may dampen this form of risk by bringing together different revenue sources with different cash flow patterns over time.
