Genital stage

According to Freud, genital stage is the period from puberty until death, marked by mature sexual behavior (that is, sexual intercourse).

In psychoanalysis, genital stage is the mature state of psychosexual development where the individual is capable of a loving, fully sexual relationship. To achieve this stage one must successfully avoid being fixated at one of the earlier stages, oral, anal or phallic.
