Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is an input device that scans data from paper documents and converts it into digital form. Documents such as utility bills, insurance premiums, and credit cards are ideal OCR applications. The most widely used OCR is the bar code reader, which scans a pattern of bars printed on products in grocery stores and department stores.
