Petty cash fund

Petty cash fund is a cash fund that is used to pay relatively small amounts such as the payments for postage due, working lunches, or taxi fares.

The operation of a petty cash fund, often called an imprest system, involves three steps: (1) establishing the fund, (2) making payments from the fund, and (3) replenishing the fund.
