Rosenthal effect

Rosenthal effect is a form of Experimenter bias or self-fulfilling prophecy in a social setting, suggested by Robert Rosenthal. Rosenthal led a group of teachers to believe that certain children in their classes had high IQs and were expected to do well in the year ahead. The children did do well-though they were all in fact of average IQ.
