Territoriality

Territoriality is the concept, developed mainly in ethnology that certain animals will stake out territory, which they will defend, for their own use or the use of their group. The suggestion is that this tendency is innate in these animals. Behavior that appears to be similar in humans should be labeled with great caution. There is no evidence that such behavior is innate in human beings.
