Free On Board [FOB]

Free On Board [FOB] is shipping term, which applies, when the goods are placed on board a ship by the seller at the port of shipment named in the sales contract. The risk of loss of, or damage to, the goods is transferred from the seller to the buyer when the goods pass the ships rail. Freight charges and any insurance premium then becomes the care of the overseas buyer/importer
