Human resource planning

Human resource planning is the process by which managers ensure that they have the right number and kinds of capable people in the right places and at the right times. Through this planning, organizations avoid sudden people shortages and surpluses. HR planning entails tow steps: (1) assessing current human resources and (2) meeting future HR needs.


Human resource planning is a process for an organization which includes forecasting the demand for and supply of personnel, has three parts: (1) forecasting the personnel requirements, (2) comparing the requirements with the talents of present employees, and (3) developing specific plans for how many people to recruit (from outside the company) or whom to train (from inside).
