Institutional markets

The institutional market consists of schools, hospitals, nursing homes, prisons, and other institutions that provide goods and services to people in their care. Institutions differ from one another in their sponsors and their objectives. For example, Tenet Healthcare runs 49 for-profit hospitals for Children is a nonprofit organization with 22 hospitals that provide free specialized healthcare for children, whereas the government-run Veterans Affairs Medical Centers located across the country provide special services to veterans. Each institution has different buying needs and resources.
