Labor quantity variance

Labor quantity variance is the difference between the actual hours times the standard rate and standard hours times the standard rate for labor.

The labor quantity variance is derived from the following formula.

(Actual Hours * Standard Rate) – (Standard Hours * Standard Rate) = Labor Quantity Variance (LQV)
