Statutory law

Statutory law is the written law, including state and federal constitutions, legislative enactments, treaties of the federal government, and ordinances of local governments.


Statutory law is a written body of rules created and approved by a group of persons (generally referred to as a legislature), which presumably expresses the will of the citizens it represents.


As a body, the laws enacted by federal, state, and local governments, constitutions, or treaties.
