Attribution is the process of trying to interpret and understand the human conditio n (our own and other peopl e' s) on the basis of overt behavior. We do this by attributing certain intentions or motivetion to the people whose behaviour we observe . This is a social psychological concept that is really a way of describing
what psychology is all about. In a sense it is the layman's equivalent of what the psycholog ist does.
