Double taxation

Double taxation refers to the form of taxation in which a corporation is taxed on its net income. When the same income is distributed to shareholders in the form of dividends, it is taxed again on shareholders’ personal income tax returns.


Double taxation is the practice of taxing both corporate income and the dividends the corporation issues to individual owners.
