High-level languages (HIL)
High-level languages (HIL), also called 3GLs (third-generation languages), refer to the computer languages that improve on assembly language and machine language because they are English-like and require fewer instructions. Some of popular high-level languages are BASIC, COBOL, FORTRAN, and C.
