Idiot savant
Idiot savant - French for 'scholarly idiot'; a person who appears to be mentally retarded but possesses outstanding mental abilities in one area. These abilities can include music, drawing and-especially computation. We cannot really account for this apparent contradiction, one reason, perhaps, for the decline in the use of this term.
