Lesbianism
Lesbianism means sexual activities and emotional attachments between women.
Lesbianism means female homosexuality. The word 'homosexual' can be applied to women because it is derived from the Greek 'homos' (same) rather than the Latin 'homo' (man). Lesbian is derived from the Greek island of Lesbos which in antiquity was associated with female homosexuality.
