Modeling is a basic form of learning in which individuals acquire new forms of behavior through observing others.
In social psychology, modeling is a form of learning from observing a model which goes much further than copying or imitating. Children especially may generalize from the model's behaviour to a wide range of similar behaviours of their own invention.
