Multimedia is a computer-based tool that uses a graphical and interactive interface and combines two or more media types, such as text, graphics, animation, audio, and video. Multimedia is made possible by integrating audio and video capabilities into personal computers. Besides the usual CPU and peripherals, for a computer to have multimedia capabilities it should also have a CD-ROM drive, stereo speakers, a microphone for voice input, a sound card, a video card, and a video compression card.
