Packet trailer

Packet trailer information added to the end of the data being sent, which generally contains error-checking information such as the CRC.


Packet trailer is the data section of a network packet. This portion contains all or part of the information being passed from sender to receiver. Because this information represents the primary “information value” of the transmission, it is called the payload.
