Peptidoglycan

Peptidoglycan is a large polymer that provides the rigid structure of the prokaryotic cell wall, composed of three kinds of building blocks: (1) acetylglycosamine (2) acetylmuramic acid, and (3) a peptide consisting of four or five amino acids.
