Preconventional morality
According to the American psychologist Lawrence Kohlberg, the first level of moral development which dominates the moral behavior of children until after the age of 7. Preconventional morality is characterized by the pleasure principle of avoiding pain or punishment and seeking the pleasure of rewards for behaviour that adults judge to be morally good or bad.
