Short-term memory

Memory that holds information for 15 to 25 seconds, is called short-term memory.

Short-term memory is the second stage of the memory process (between sensory memory and long-term memory) lasting for up to 30 seconds. During this period we decide whether to retain the new information in a permanent record (long-term memory) or let it go.
