Advising Bank

Advising Bank is a bank that notifies the exporter of the opening of a documentary credit in their favour.

The advising bank, usually located in the exporter’s country, fully informs the exporter of the conditions of the documentary credit without obligation on its part.


Advising Bank is a bank usually located in the country of residence of an Exporter, used by an Importer’s bank to authenticate a Letter of Credit before it is passed

on to the Exporter.


 

Advising bank is a corresponding bank in the beneficiary's country to which an issuing bank sends a letter
of credit.
