Central Tendency

Central tendency means a tendency to rate all employees the same way, such as rating them all average. Doing so distorts the evaluations, making them less useful for promotion, salary, or counseling purposes. Ranking employees instead of using graphic rating scale can reduce this problem, since ranking means you can’t rate them all average.
