Economic entity assumption

Economic entity assumption is an assumption that requires that the activities of the entity be kept separate and distinct from the activities of its owner and all other economic entities. To illustrate, Sally Rider, owner of Sally’s Boutique, must keep her personal living costs separate from the expenses of the Boutique. Similarly, PepsiCo. Coca-Cola, and Cadbury-Schweppes are segregated into separate economic entities for accounting purposes.
