Equity theory
Equity theory is the theory that an employee compares his or her job’s input: outcomes ratio with that of relevant others and then corrects any inequity. The result might be lower or higher productivity, improved or reduced quality of output, increased absenteeism, or voluntary resignation.
Equity theory is an individual’s perception of fair and equitable treatment.
