Job sharing allows two or more people to share a single full-time job. It occurs when who or more employees perform the duties of one full-time position, each sharing the work activities on a part-time basis. For example, two people may share a 40-hour-per-week job, with one working mornings and the other working afternoons. Job sharing can be particularly useful for retirement-aged employees, in that it allows them to reduce their hours while enabling the company to retain their expertise.
