Serial monogamy

Serial monogamy is a form of marriage in which a person may have several spouses in his or her lifetime, but only one spouse at a time.

Definition Two:

Serial monogamy is the process of contracting several exclusive sexual relationships in succession. Rather than monogamous marriages it could be said that the dominant pattern in the west is now serial monogamy: marriage, divorce, and remarriage.
