Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a trading alliance of 10 Southeast Asian nations has a population of about 566 million, with a combined GDP of US$737 billion. This fast-growing region means ASEAN will be an increasingly important regional economic and political alliance whose impact could eventually rival that of NAFTA and the EU.


 

Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a loose economic and geopolitical affiliation that includes Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia,
Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Future members are likely to include Burma, Laos, and Cambodia.
