Civil rights

Civil rights can be defined as the rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and federal and state statutes enacted to protect a wide range of individual rights, such as right to vote, freedom of speech, the right to assemble, the right to equal treatment, etc.

Definition Two:

Civil rights is the legal rights held by all citizens in a given state.
