Horizontal Integration
A grand strategy based on growth through the acquisition of similar one or more firms operating at the same stage of production marketing chain. Such acquisitions eliminate competitors and provide the acquiring firm with access to new markets. It refers to the increase in market share and market power that results from M&As of rivals.
