Information power can be particularly effective and is derived from a manager’s access and control over the dissemination of information that is important to subordinates yet not easily available in the organization.

For instance, someone shares the secret, her/his power is gone. Because this power is grounded in what a person knows about a specific situation’s content. Other types of power don’t depend on the content.
