Place advertising

Place Advertising (also out-of-home advertising) is a broad category including many creative and unexpected forms to grab consumers’ attention. It is always better when marketers reach people where they work, play, and shop.

Billboards, product placements, and points of purchase are great ways to reach out to customers in a not-so-disturbing manner. Marketers have become more creative through the years and technologies have enabled people to do more than boring still pictures featuring the name, logo etc. (which are, of course, place advertising as well)

For example, Coca Cola’s Drinkable Ad campaign for Coke Zero was groundbreaking for how they were able to create a multi-sensory experience through interconnected billboards, TVC, mobile devices and beverage dispensers for their Place Advertising.

One can buy banners on moving trucks so that people see the promotional message even when on the move. Advertisers are always trying fresh innovative yet catchy ideas to grab the attention of potential consumers.
